UAB Baseball and Troy Meet for In-State Matchup

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Baseball team will travel to Riddle-Pace Field to play Troy on Tuesday, Feb. 28. The mid-week matchup will be broadcasted on ESPN+ with first pitch scheduled for 6 P.M.

The Blazers (3-4) are riding a momentum high after a series win versus Murray State this past weekend. On Friday, UAB scored early off back-to-back doubles in the first inning in the 4-2 win before dropping game two to the Racers, 12-6. During the rubber match, the Blazers held Murray State to a one-run victory, 3-2, after going into the bottom of the eighth inning tied.
Troy is starting the 2023 season off undefeated through seven games which include two weekend sweeps versus Evansville on Opening Weekend and Stony Brook. The Trojans are in the midst of a 13-home game stretch when they welcome the Blazers on Tuesday.
For UAB, Darryl Buggs leads the team in batting average (.381) and currently has a four-game hitting streak while Troy's William Sullivan leads his team in batting average (.560) which include four home runs.
