BIRMINGHAM – Christian Coleman enters his first season on the UAB men's basketball roster in 2023-24 after a long journey from NAIA to JUCO to UAB. Coleman was ranked as the No. 2 JUCO player in the country by JUCORecruiting.com out of South Plains College in Levelland, Texas.
Coleman, who stands at 6'9", has already displayed a high level of athleticism.
What made you choose UAB?
I like the Environment. I'm close to home and it's a winning program that I want to be a part of.
What was your journey like from high school to UAB?

Which game are you most looking forward to on the schedule?
All of them!
What is your go-to pregame meal?
Probably some noodles.
Who is your favorite musical artist?
I really don't have one but if I had to pick, it's NBA Youngboy.
Who is the player that you model your game after the most?
Kobe. Mamba Mentality.
How would you describe your game?
Active
Which one of your teammates are you expecting a big year from?

What is it like playing for Andy Kennedy?
I like it. He is really straightforward with us, and he wants to win, so it should be fun.
The Blazers tip off the 2023-24 season at Bartow Arena on November 6 against reigning Missouri Valley Conference champion Bradley. UAB will also host Morehouse College on October 30 in an exhibition contest.
