BIRMINGHAM – Barry Dunning is a sophomore guard/forward on the UAB men's basketball team entering his first season in Birmingham. The Mobile native was a top-100 recruit in the nation out of high school and spent one season at Arkansas.
What made you choose UAB?
Came to UAB for the opportunity to play for and learn from coach AK.
You started a mental health organization during your freshman year at Arkansas. Why was that important to you?
As an athlete, especially a student athlete, we go through the everyday pressures and expectations that have to be met for our sport and in school. So, starting my nonprofit is to help, educate, and provide care for our youth and student athletes.
Which game are you most looking forward to on the schedule?
All of them
What is your go-to pregame meal?
Waffle House
Who is your favorite musical artist?
Lil Uzi
Who is the player that you model your game after the most?
Mikal Bridges and Jaylen Brown
How would you describe your game?
All-around guy, very versatile, utility guy.
Which one of your teammates are you expecting a big year from?
Everyone
What is it like playing for Andy Kennedy?
Playing for coach teaches you how to play the game the right way and to always stand on your work.
Who is the best dunker on the team?
Hard to say because we have a lot of good ones.

Fan experience packages and discounted group tickets are available starting today for a minimum purchase of 15 tickets, and fan experiences at Bartow Arena are available at any home basketball game on a first come, first served basis throughout the season.
In addition, a limited number of premium seating options also remain at Bartow Arena and provides fans and corporations the ability to enjoy the exclusive amenities offered at Bartow Arena while experiencing the action from midcourt views. Call Blazer Boosters at (205) 996-9969 to learn more.
