Men's Basketball Opens Official Practice

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's basketball opened official practice on Monday afternoon at Bartow Arena. NCAA men's basketball programs are permitted to begin regular preseason practice 42 days before the start of their first regular season game.
The Blazers are returning to action as defending C-USA Tournament champs with high hopes for the 2022-23 slate. UAB opens regular season play on Nov. 7 at Bartow Arena against Alabama State after an exhibition contest against Mississippi College on Nov. 1.
Andy Kennedy and the Blazers will look to make back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since making three-consecutive appearances in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Kennedy enters his third season at the helm and has compiled an overall record of 49-15 in his first two seasons. The Blazers tallied a school record 27 victories in 2021-22.
