Men's Soccer Falls on the Road at No. 18/11 Charlotte

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's soccer (2-4-0, 0-1-0 AAC) fell on the road to No. 18/11 Charlotte (6-0-0, 1-0-0 AAC) by a score of 3-0. The 49ers put three goals in the back of the net in the first half and led throughout the contest.
UAB was only able to put three shots on goal but the Charlotte keeper was able to take care of each of them.
The 49ers jumped on the board in the 27th minute after a cross into the box found the head of the Charlotte attacker at the far post to make it 1-0.
Charlotte made it 2-0 after a cross into the box was headed around and eventually found the foot of an attacker, who put the ball into the back of the net. The 49ers added a third goal with a breakaway with less than a minute to go in the first half.
The Blazers put some pressure on the Charlotte back line late in the game, but they were unable to put the ball in the net.
NOTES
The match was the Blazers' first conference contest as a member of the American Athletic Conference.
The three goals scored by the 49ers are the most allowed by UAB on the season. Charlotte has scored at least three goals in every match this season.
Charlotte leads the all-time series 25-9-5. The Blazers have not beaten the 49ers since 2010.
