Four Blazers Named to 2021-22 NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Four UAB men's basketball student-athletes earned 2021-22 NABC Honors Court accolades, as announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Tuesday morning.
Blazers Jordan Walker, Trey Jemison, Michael Ertel and Justin Brown each earned a spot on the NABC Honors Court. The NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2021-22 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The quartet of Blazers helped UAB capture its sixth conference tournament title in March in an 82-73 victory over Louisiana Tech in the Conference USA Championship game. The championship victory also punched UAB's ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the 16th time in program history.
Walker, the 2021-22 Conference USA Player of the Year, and Jemison, a Conference USA All-Defensive Team honoree in 2020-21, return for the 2022-23 season. They are joined by fellow key contributors KJ Buffen, Tavin Lovan, Tony Toney and Rongie Gordon.
Head coach Andy Kennedy has also added seven new Blazers to the 2022-23 roster, five of which are from the transfer portal. Eric Gaines (LSU), Javian Davis (Mississippi State), Ledarrius and Ty Brewer (ETSU), and Tyler Bertram (Binghamton) comprise the five student-athletes UAB has added through the transfer portal since March 30. The Blazers will also add in-state high school standout Efrem Johnson and walk-on Seth Sigmon to the 2022-23 roster.

The public season-ticket price is set at $275, while season tickets for UAB employees and alumni are available for $245 per seat.
