Women’s Tennis Hosts Chattanooga in Home Opener on Sunday

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team open its home slate on Sunday afternoon when it hosts Chattanooga. The match will be played at Lakeview Tennis Courts with a noon start time.
UAB LATELY
UAB (1-3) picked up its first victory of the season on Tuesday, defeating Samford in dramatic fashion 4-3. Maggie White's win in a tiebreaker gave the Blazers the game-winning point on Court 5.
CHATTANOOGA LATELY
Chattanooga (3-1) is coming off a 7-0 shutout against Division II Lee University on Jan. 30. Prior to that, the Mocs fell 5-2 to Alabama on Jan. 29.
THE SERIES AGAINST CHATTANOOGA
UAB holds an 8-7 lead over Chattanooga in that series began in 1992. The teams have not met since the 2016 season.
LAST MATCH AGAINST CHATTANOOGA
UAB recorded its first victory over Chattanooga since 2011 when the Blazers defeated the Mocs 4-1 on Jan. 30, 2016.
