UAB Men's Basketball Returns Home to Face Presbyterian

BIRMINGHAM - UAB men's basketball (1-1) will look to get back on track against Presbyterian (1-2) on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. in Bartow Arena.
Each of the head coaches in this matchup are representing their respective alma maters. The Blazers are looking to get back in the win column after falling to Toledo on Friday night.

Monday's contest is set to air on 100.5 ESPN JOX 2 with David Crane and Steve Mitchell on the call.

SCORING IN BUNCHES
The 2022-23 UAB men's basketball team scored 111 points in its season-opening game on Nov. 7, getting fans in Bartow on their feet for what hopes to be another successful season on the offensive end for the Blazers and third-year head coach Andy Kennedy. The 111-point total is the most points scored by a UAB team in a season-opener in program history. The Blazers, who averaged over 80 points per game a season ago (1st in CUSA, 6th nationally) and surpassed 80 points in 15 of their 35 games, will look to continue their high-scoring ways.
PICKING UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF
Jordan "Jelly" Walker dropped 38 points in the season opener against Alabama State, the most scored by a UAB player in a season opener ever. Walker shot 11-for-19 from the field and 5-for-9 from three. He also knocked down all 11 of his free throw attempts, marking the third time he has shot 100 percent from the free throw line with at least 11 attempts. He and Andy Kennedy are the only two Blazers to have ever accomplished that feat twice. "Jelly" has recorded three of the top eight single-game scoring efforts in UAB history. Walker followed up the 38-point performance with 25 points in the second game of the season.
