UAB Softball Welcomes UTEP For Weekend Series

BIRMINGHAM – The Blazers play at Mary Bowers Field for the first time in 28 days when they host UTEP for a four-game series this weekend, April 10-11.
UAB (15-15, 2-2 C-USA) VS. UTEP (7-13, 2-2 C-USA)
UAB owns the 28-11 all-time series between the two schools. The last matchup between the two was a three-game series on March 30-31, 2019 in El Paso, Texas. The Miners took the series 2-1.
UAB LATELY
The Blazers are coming off their C-USA season opener, a 2-2 series split at North Texas on April 3-4. UAB took the first two games of the series in Denton before falling 0-2 in the last two matchups versus the Mean Green.
UTEP LATELY
The Miners are coming off a 2-2 series split at home against Southern Miss, their C-USA opener. UTEP junior utility Kasey Flores, who had a 10-RBI week and hit two grand slams against the Golden Eagles, was named the C-USA Player of the Week on Wednesday.
In the circle, Mackenze Collins (3-5) is the Miners' go-to. She has pitched a team-high 46.2 innings and owns a 6.75 ERA.

Sierra Frazier (11) and Faith Hegh (9) currently have the longest hit streaks on the team. Frazier ranks in the top-10 in the conference in total hits (30), on base percentage (.505), hitting percentage (.375), walks (14), and being hit by pitches (7).

KK Crocker (15) and Sierra Frazier (14) rank No. 6 and No. 8 in C-USA, respectively, for drawing the most walks this season. In the last 10 games, Frazier has been walked a team-high 10 times.
