UAB Wins Third Straight After 4-1 Victory Over Georgia State

ATLANTA - The UAB women's tennis team won its third straight match and ninth of its last 10 after a 4-1 victory at George State on Sunday afternoon.
In doubles, the Blazers'ย Sydney Clarkeย andย Annalisa Smithย were 6-1 winners on Court 2 andย Maggie Whiteย andย Alexandra da Silvaย won on Court 3 by the score of 6-3.
In singles, Smith put UAB ahead 2-0 after a 6-2, 6-2 victory on Court 6. GSU got its only point of the match on Court 1 before Megan Bertrandsย and Clarke won on Courts 4 and 5 to clinch the match. Bertrands was a 6-1, 6-2 winners and Clark won 6-2, 6-2.
Adela Wasserbauerovaย was ahead 7-6, 3-2 on Court 1 andย Dominika Hrabalovaย was leading 6-3, 5-4 on Court 3 when the match was decided.
The Blazers (11-6) remain in Georgia to face Kennesaw State (5-11) on Monday at noon.ย
UAB will return home to George Ward Park on April 10 at noon against Middle Tennessee in the regular season finale.ย
