UAB Baseball Hosts Alabama for Midweek at Regions Field

BIRMINGHAM — The UAB baseball team hosts Alabama on Tuesday, April 27 at Regions Field presented by Regions Bank. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
UAB (13-27, 6-14 C-USA) vs. ALABAMA (24-15, 8-10 SEC)
This is the 80th meeting between the two programs. The Crimson Tide hold the overall series record 54-25 over the Blazers. The last meeting between the teams came on March 10, 2020 that resulted in a 13-7 Alabama win. The game also marked the final games for either team prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
PITCHING MATCHUP
RHP Brady Greene (3-2, 2.03 ERA) vs. RHP Connor Shamblin (3-2, 3.34 ERA)
UAB LATELY
The Blazers are coming off a 1-3 weekend at Middle Tennessee. In the series, Riley Davis pitched his third complete game of the season in the 4-2 game one victory. Chandler Simpson leads UAB with a .314 batting average and is tied with Jess Davis with 18 stolen bases. Simpson, J. Davis and Colton Schultz lead the team with 38 hits.
ALABAMA LATELY
Alabama is coming off a 1-2 weekend series at Kentucky. The Crimson Tide is led at the plate by Peyton Wilson with a .325 batting average. Wilson also leads the SEC with 55 hits.

Jess Davis has 72 career stolen bases. He sits tied sixth in program history with Mitch Jones (2000-03).
