UAB Baseball Falls 3-1, Splits Series with Middle Tennessee

BIRMINGHAM — In a Sunday rubber match, Middle Tennessee outlasted UAB in a 3-1 decision at Young Memorial Field. The Blazers drop to 9-13, 2-2 CUSA while Middle Tennessee moves to 13-10, 2-2 CUSA.
UAB was led at the plate by John Marc Mullins, going 1-for-3 with an RBI. Austin Bohannon got the start on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings for his first loss of the season.
Middle Tennessee produced two doubles in the first to take the lead, 1-0. The Blue Raiders added two runs in the top of the seventh on two hits.
Colton Schultz led off the bottom of the seventh with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Following an Ian Ladner groundout, Schultz moved to third. A single by Mullins scored Schultz for the Blazers' first run of the contest, cutting the Blue Raider lead to two, 3-1.
Middle Tennessee held on to take the game and series split, 3-1.

Fans, including Gold Card holders and students, will not be permitted to attend home baseball games played at Young Memorial Field. Attendees will be limited to the player pass list and limited premium spaces.
