UAB Drops Contest to Georgia Southern, 15-4

Freshman Chandler Simpson had a career-high day at the plate for UAB (6-7, 0-0 CUSA) going 4-for-5 with two RBIs. Jess Davis and Colton Schultz each brought in a run for the Blazers.
Georgia Southern (8-6, 0-0 SBC) scored their first run off a solo home run from Mason McWhorter in the first inning. He would hit for the cycle in the game and recorded four RBIs.
The Blazers scored their first runs of the games in the fifth. Jess Davis hit a single up the middle and Simpson came up and hit a two-run double to left field to cut the Eagles' lead to five, 8-3. Georgia Southern answered back with three runs in the fifth and sixth.
UAB added a run in the ninth after Simpson singled to right and Schultz hit a double a batter later to bring the score to, 15-4.
