UAB Baseball Hosts No. 23 Alabama for Midweek Tilt

BIRMINGHAM — The UAB baseball team hosts No. 23 Alabama for their first home midweek contest of the season on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Regions Field.
"We are looking forward to getting back on the field and competing at Regions tomorrow night," head coach Perry Roth said. "Hopefully the weather holds off and we get our traditional big crowd. This is a fun game to play, you have so many of these players that are long time opponents, friends and former teammates from around the state and you combine that with the energy of the crowd that makes it unique."
UAB (5-2, 0-0 CUSA) vs. No. 23 ALABAMA (7-1, 0-0 SEC)
The Crimson Tide hold the overall series record 25-13 over the Blazers. The last meeting between the teams came on March 10, 2020 that resulted in a 13-7 Alabama win. The game also marked the final games for either team prior to COVID-19 pandemic.
UAB LATELY
The Blazers capped of a series sweep of Alabama A&M in a 7-3 victory on Sunday at Regions Field. In the three games, UAB outscored the Bulldogs 38-7. Junior Caleb Floyd led the Blazers going 7-for-12 in the three games with three doubles, two home runs and six RBIs.
ALABAMA LATELY
Alabama is coming off a 4-1 weekend with a game at Jacksonville State, a home contest versus UT-Martin and a three-game series against Wright State. The lone loss of the weekend for the Crimson Tide came against UT-Martin in a 9-4 decision on Feb. 24 in Tuscaloosa.
