SCOUTING THE CRIMSON TIDE
Alabama took the midweek contest just six days ago at Regions Field. Eight of the Tide's 10 hits went for extra bases, including two bases clearing knocks by freshmen Caleb Barnett and Andrew Purdy. Brady Neal, who had four hits in last week's game, carries a 7-game hit streak into Tuesday night. Justin Lebron has an 11-game hit streak and leads the team with 32 stolen bases and 12 home runs. On the mound, Alabama turns to freshman left-hander Luke Smyers. In his lone start of the season, Smyers tossed two innings, struck out three, walked two, and allowed a run and received a no decision on February 18 vs. Alabama State.
