BIRMINGHAM – UAB Baseball returns home for a quick 3-game set with the Memphis Tigers. The series is the 5th-most played rivalry in program history as this weekend marks the 93rd, 94th, and 95th meetings all-time.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis comes into the weekend winners of five of its last six with the lone loss coming on Tuesday night at 15th ranked Mississippi State. The Tigers also lead The American with 89 stolen bases and have gone without a stolen base in just four games this season. Additionally, Memphis ranks 34th nationally in that category. The team also ranks second in the league with a .977 fielding percentage. James Smith IV ranks second in the American Conference with 1.09 runs batted in per game. In the back end of the bullpen, Carson Fair's eight saves is second in the conference.
THINGS TO KNOW
- The Blazers are three home wins away from their 14th 20-win season at home in program history, and the first since 2014.
- Kevin Hall Jr. is two hits away from 100 career hits. Hall, a junior from Munster, IN has 40 hits through 36 games this season.
- The team leader in hits is Wesley Helms, who has 47 through 41 games. Helms, a redshirt senior from Birmingham, is six hits away from 100 in his UAB career. Helms also carries a 28-game on-base streak into the weekend.
- The Blazers have seven players who total 40 or more hits this season which is tied for the American Conference lead (Charlotte).
- The UAB pitching staff has had some strong showings since the calendar flipped to April. In their last four games, the staff has allowed five walks in the last 35.0 innings, the fewest in a 4-game stretch since 2023.
- UAB has scored 10+ runs in 15 games this season. The feat has been accomplished only nine other times in program history, and the first time since 2009.
- The home team has won the series each of the last two seasons.
