Former UAB forward C.J. Washington completed his third season with the Halifax Hurricanes of National Basketball League of Canada.
Before the NBL suspended play on March 12, Washington averaged 20.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game while shooting 52.6 percent from the field, including 31.6 from 3-point range. In his 14 games played, Washington scored in double-figures in every game.
His best game was scoring a season-high 31 points on 14-of-20 shooting along with 10 rebounds against the London Lightning on Jan. 20. Washington pulled down a season-high 14 rebounds against the Moncton Magic. In total, he recoded 10 double-doubles.
The 2019-20 season was Washington's third with Halifax.
Washington began his professional career in Argentina before signing with Halifax prior to the 2016-17 season.
As a Blazer, Washington played the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons in the Magic City. He helped UAB win the 2015 Conference USA championship and advance to the Third Round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament after upsetting No. 3 seed Iowa State 60-59 in the Second Round as a No. 14 seed. After transferring to UAB from Tallahassee (Fla.) Community College, Washington finished his junior season as the Blazers' second-leading scorer with 13.0 points per game.
