UAB Wins Third Straight After Defeating North Alabama 7-0

BIRMINGHAM – UAB recorded its third consecutive victory on Tuesday afternoon after a 7-0 banking of North Alabama at George Ward Park.

The Blazers (6-4) started off by sweeping the double point. Dominika Hrabalova and Adela Wasserbauerova finished first at #1 by the score of 6-2. The teams of Marlene Herrmann and Jana Hecking along with Megan Bertrands and Hana Sisirak were both 6-4 winners at #2 and #3 respectively.

Wasserbauerova put UAB ahead 2-0 after a 6-1, 6-4 straight set victory at #2 singles. Bertrands won at #5 6-3, 6-1 and Hrabalova got the clincher at #4 6-3, 6-0.

The match continued with Herrmann winning at #3 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 along with Hecking taking #1 6-2, 6-7, 1-0. Alexia Witthaus concluded the action with a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 win at #6.

The Blazers remain at home this weekend against Alabama A&M (Feb. 29 / UAB Campus Courts) and Jackson State (Mar. 1 / George Ward Park).
