UAB Records 4-0 Shutout over Murray State

BIRMINGHAM - UAB recoded its first shutout of the season after a 4-0 victory over Murray State on Saturday afternoon.
The Blazers (5-4) opened things up by winning the doubles point. Jana Hecking and Marlene Herrmann won at the #2 spot 6-4. Adela Wasserbauerova and Dominika Hrabalova held on for a 7-6 win at #1 to clinch the point. Megan Bertrands and Alexia Witthaus were deadlocked at 6-6 at #3 when the point was decided.
Hecking breezed through #1 singles, 6-0-, 6-3 - as did Herrmann at #3 by the score of 6-2, 6-1 and Hrabalova at #4 6-2, 6-1.Bertrands and Hana Sisirak were both winning at #5 and #6 respectively when the match was decided.
UAB remains at home this week when they face North Alabama on Feb. 25 at George Ward Park. The Blazers also host Alabama A&M on Feb. 29 at the UAB Campus Courts.
