UAB Edges Samford 4-3 on Match Streamed on ESPN3

BIRMINGHAM - On Wednesday, UAB made the short trek to Homewood to take on cross-town rival Samford. The Blazers won the match, which was streamed on ESPN3, by the score of 4-3.
The Bulldogs (4-4) started out by claiming the double point. The Blazers (4-4) got on the board after Dominika Hrabalova's straight set victory over Arianna Beltrame 6-3, 6-2. UAB would get victories from Adela Wasserbauerova at #2, Marlene Herrmann at #3 and Megan Bertrands at #5 – all in three sets.
The teams have alternated victories each of the past four season.
Up next, UAB returns to George Ward Park to face Murray State (7-2). The Racers had their five match winning streak snapped by WKU on Feb. 16 by the score of 4-3.
