CHATANOOGA, Tenn. – The UAB Women's Tennis team participated in the UTC Inivte this past weekend. The event was a hidden dual format and also featured Middle Tennessee and host Chatanooga.

In singles, Sydney Clarke and Annalisa Smith each has a pair of victories. Clarke defeated MT's Muskan Gupta 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (13-11) on Saturday and was a straight set winner over Chattanooga's Caroline Gibbens 7-5, 6-4 on Sunday. Smith went the weekend without dropping a set, defeating MT's Noelle Mauro 6-3, 6-1 on Saturday and UTC's Grace Anne Dunavant 6-2, 6-1 on Sunday.

In doubles, the Blazers won three of their six matches against the Blue Raiders and picked up a pair of wins against the Mocs. Dominika Hrabalova had a pair of doubles wins – one with Adela Wasserbauerova over Lidia Burrows and Lee Barnard from MT 6-4 and one with Smith against Chattanooga's Callie Billman and Dunavant 6-3.

Megan Bertrands also had a pair wins – with Clarke and Smith they defeated Middle's Lilly-Sophie Schmidt and Noelle Mauro 6-2 and 6-2 respectively. Wasserbauerova picked up her second double win with Clarke as they defeated UTC's Bogdana Zaporozhets and Jessie Young6-1.

The final event of the 2020 Fall season will be the second ITA Fall Circuit. The three day event begins Nov. 7 at the Athletic Club Alabama in Huntsville.
