WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
- Spencer Brown is the nation's fifth leading rusher. He goes up against a Louisiana Tech team that ranks fifth in C-USA allowing 139.2 rushing yards per game. Conversely, UAB is averaging 184.8 yards on the ground.
- Brown is having an All-America worthy campaign as UAB's career rushing leader enters the game with exactly 600 yards and eight touchdowns. Last week against Louisiana, Brown had 128 yards and two touchdowns, which gave him the school record for career total touchdowns (40). Brown also moved into 11th place in Conference USA history for career rushing yards with 3,722.
- The UAB offensive line is a major contributor to Brown's success as it has created massive running lanes, and has kept Bryson Lucero clean as the Blazers have only surrendered three sacks all year. The three sacks allowed are the third fewest in the nation amongst teams who have played multiple games this year.
- The UAB defense looks for another strong performance on Saturday as the Blazers have held their last three opponents under 300 yards of total offense. Louisiana Tech ranks 10th in Conference USA for total offense, averaging 326.7 yards per game. The Bulldogs are averaging 227.5 yards per game through the air and a league-low 99.2 yards per game on the ground.
- UAB is the nation's second ranked pass defense and looks to keep its streak alive of holding every opponent it has faced to less than 200 passing yards. The Blazers are allowing just 153.8 passing yards a game.
- Last week's game against Louisiana was the first time this season UAB has not created a turnover. Despite that, UAB is still tied for ninth nationally in turnovers gained with 11 (six fumble recoveries, five interceptions). Louisiana Tech has turned the ball over seven times this season (one fumble, six interceptions).
- Kicker Matt Quinn, who was named to the FWAA Freshman All-America Watch List, looks to keep his tremendous rookie season going. The Mobile native is 6-of-7 on field goal attempts and a perfect 23-of-23 on point after attempts.
- Along with watching the game on the Fox Sports GO app, Fox College Sports on YouTube tv, or Stadium Plus on YouTube tv, the Fox RSN broadcast will also air on the following channels: AT&T Las Vegas, AT&T Pittsburgh, AT&T Rocky Mountain, Fox Sports Arizona, Fox Sports Detroit, Fox Sports Florida, Fox Sports Midwest, Fox Sports North, Fox Sports Ohio, Fox Sports South (KY & Parts of NC), Fox Sports Southeast, Fox Sports Southwest, Fox Sports West, Fox Sports Wisconsin, Marquee Sports Network, MASN 2, MSG Network and ROOT Sports Northwest.
