UAB Defeats Defending Southland Conference Champion Central Arkansas 4-1

Drops 4-0 decision to Aubrun
AUBURN, Ala. – The UAB women's tennis team opened up the 2020 Spring season with a 4-1 victory over defending Southland Conference champion Central Arkansas on Saturday afternoon. The Bears are coming off a 20-win season and a berth in the NCAA tournament. 
After dropping the doubles point, the Blazers got singles wins from Jana Hecking, Alexia Witthaus, Megan Bertrands and Dominika Hrabalova. All four won in straight sets.
Later in the day, UAB fell 4-0 to Auburn.
Up next, the Blazers travel to Tuscaloosa to battle Indiana in a neutral site matchup. The home opener is Jan. 26 against Arkansas State at George Ward Park. Match time is noon.
