UAB Women’s Soccer Picked Fourth in C-USA Preseason Poll

DALLAS – The UAB women's soccer team has been selected to finish fourth in Conference USA in a poll conducted by the league's 14 head coaches. The Blazers were picked behind defending champion North Texas, Florida Atlantic and Rice.
UAB, who finished in third place last season, earned their first back-to-back C-USA Championship bids since the 2008 and 2009 seasons. The Blazers are coming off their first back-to-back winning seasons since 2003 and 2004.
The exhibition season wraps up on Friday evening when UAB visits Jacksonville State. The Blazers' season-opener will be on Aug. 22 at Samford. UAB's first home match is Aug. 25 against College Cup participant TCU at newly renovated BBVA Field.
