Women’s Tennis Suffers 4-0 Loss to Memphis

BIRMINGHAM – Despite being ahead in three singles matches, the UAB women's tennis sustained a 4-0 loss to Memphis on Friday afternoon at George Ward Park.
The Blazers (4-9), who were only able to field four healthy players, lost the doubles point and fell in singles on court one for the 4-0 decision.
Memphis (7-6) won court one doubles 6-1, and secured a 1-0 advantage when court two defeated the Blazers 6-2.
Moving to singles, UAB had to forfeit courts five and six as the Tigers moved ahead 3-0 before action started.
The Tigers registered the 4-0 victory with a 7-6, 6-0 victory on court, and unfortunately the Blazers had to leave courts 2-4 unfinished despite winning the first set on all three.
UAB is back in action on Sunday when they travel to North Alabama for a match with the Lions at 1 p.m.
