Senior Salute: Wil Bathurst

UAB is recognizing the senior class of 2019 this week. Today Wil Bathurst is featured.

Wil Bathurst arrived on UAB's campus in the spring of 2018. The 6-3 guard's journey to Birmingham began over 900-plus miles away in Ithaca, N.Y. Bathurst began his college basketball playing career at Cornell, where he started the first six games his senior season, averaging 8.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists. However, a torn labrum in his left shoulder forced him to miss the rest of his senior season after only seven games.

Since Bathurst's injury came early in enough in the season, he was able to maintain his final year of eligibility and meet the NCAA's graduate transfer criteria. He finished his bachelor's degree at Cornell in applied economics and management.

In his graduate season at UAB, Bathurst played in 11 games, making a pair of starts – UAB's 14-point victory over C-USA champion Old Dominion and the Blazers' postseason CBI game at Brown.
