UAB to Host 2019 Air Force Reserve C-USA Track & Field Championships

BIRMINGHAM – Serving as hosts for the eight-consecutive season, UAB and the Birmingham Crossplex is the site for the 2019 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championship which is set for this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 16-17.
The action begins on Saturday at 9 a.m. CST with combined events, starting with the heptathlon. The pentathlon follows at 9:15 a.m. The first set of field events will start at 2 p.m., commencing with men's high jump. Running prelims begin at 4 p.m. with the mile. The finals of the 5000m and DMR begin at 7:30 p.m. and 8:20 p.m., respectively.
Sunday begins with remaining heptathlon events at 9 a.m. The second round of field events starts at 11 a.m. with men's shot put and triple jump and the women's high jump. The remainder of the running finals begin at 1 p.m. with ESPN+ coverage kicking off at 2 p.m. The awards presentation is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
The Blazers look to capture a few individual titles this weekend, specifically in the distance events as Emily Drouin enters the 3,000 and the 5,000-meter run with the league's fastest times to date this season. Drouin will be in the finals of the 5,000 on Saturday night and the 3,000 on Sunday afternoon.
Admission costs $20 for an adult two-day pass and $10 for youth (12-17). A single day ticket costs $15 for adults and $6 for youth (12-17). Admission is free for children ages 11 and under and for students who attend a C-USA member institution and have a valid ID card.
