Blazers Set for American Outdoor Championships

DENTON, TEXAS – UAB Track & Field heads to the American Conference Outdoor Championships to wrap up its 2026 slate this weekend at the University of North Texas. The 3-day meet will begin on Thursday.
Thursday Schedule
Competition opens Thursday morning in the women's hammer throw at 11:00 a.m. with Sarah Hopkins and Laney Webb leading the way, followed by Hannah-Sophie Pippel in the javelin at 3:00 p.m.
Sprint action heats up at 7:00 p.m. in the women's 200m preliminaries featuring Jordyn Dortch and Gabby Washington, while Jasmine Dereje closes out the women's events in the 400m hurdles preliminary round at 7:30 p.m.
Friday Schedule
Friday's action begins in the field at 1:30 p.m. with Laney Webb competing in the women's shot put.
The women's long jump trio of Madison Cameron, Victory George, and Mikayla Williams takes center stage at 3:00 p.m., while Fiona Eastman, Trinity Fellows, Victoria Freeland, and Noelle Hambrick compete in the women's pole vault beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Track preliminaries continue Friday evening with:
- Kat Duren and Taylor Washington in the women's 100m hurdles at 5:25 p.m.
- Emma Kate Alexander, Lia Castillo, Kelly Hughes, and Hannah-Sophie Pippel in the women's 800m at 6:00 p.m.
- Leticia Quingostas in the women's 400m preliminaries at 6:30 p.m.
- Lidia Longo in the women's 3000m steeplechase at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday (Finals)
Championship Saturday promises an exciting finish as multiple athletes return for finals competition. Finals across all events will take place throughout the day. The meet concludes with Team A competing in the women's 4x400m relay at 7:35 p.m.
