BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Long heralded as the premiere supporters group for the UAB men's basketball program, head coach Robert Ehsan has announced the renewal of the Blazer Rebounders Club for the upcoming 2018-19 season.
Created by the Father of UAB Athletics and former head coach Gene Bartow, the organization is centered around bringing Blazer fans closer to the program through personal interactions with the team at practice and on gameday.
"Having the opportunity to bring back the Blazer Rebounders Club is truly special for our program," Ehsan said. "One of our focuses heading into the season is fan engagement, and I cannot think of a better way to get closer to our loyal supporters than by having them around the team. We cannot wait for our first event as we continue the traditions created by Coach Bartow."
The group's first event will be held on Sept. 21 from 4-5:30 p.m. in Bartow Arena, when fans will have the opportunity to watch the team practice and officially sign up for the club. Single memberships will be available for $25, while a family membership, which allows up to four members, costs $50.
As part of the Blazer Rebounder Club, members will receive access to the team and coaching staff, invitations to select road trips along with tailgating outside of Bartow Arena.
For more information or questions about the organization, contact Director of Basketball Administration Scott Sharp at (205)-934-3402 or at ssharp20@uab.edu.
