UAB Men’s Basketball to Play in 2018 AdvoCare Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's basketball team is one of eight teams in a loaded field for the 2018 AdvoCare Invitational on Nov. 22-25 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
Along with UAB, the competition includes the defending national champion Villanova Wildcats and Elite 8 participant Florida State Seminoles. Joining the Blazers and those two teams are Canisius, College of Charleston, LSU, Memphis and Oklahoma State.
The Blazers square off with the Seminoles to kick off their tournament slate on Nov. 22 at 8/8:30 p.m. CST on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. UAB will then face the College of Charleston or LSU in its next game on Nov. 23.
"This is going to be one of the premier preseason tournaments of the 2018-19 college basketball season and we couldn't be more excited to participate in it," head coach Robert Ehsan said. "The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex runs a first-class event and the teams in this year's field provides us a major opportunity to play quality opponents prior to conference action."
Excluding Memphis, UAB has met the other six teams in the field a combined 12 times, while the Blazers and the Tigers have played on the hardwood 48 times, including UAB's 71-56 victory last season in Bartow Arena.
West Virginia won last year's AdvoCare Invitational with an 83-79 victory over Missouri.

Season tickets for the 2018-19 men's basketball campaign are on sale now and start as low as $105 in Blaze's Corner. New this upcoming season is the Family Four Pack which includes four season tickets for a total cost of $400. The men's basketball priority deadline is September 1.
