BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB men's basketball head coach Robert Ehsan has announced the addition of transfer Jeremiah Bell to the roster. The 6-0, 171 lbs guard will have to sit out the 2018-19 season and has one year of eligibility remaining for 2019-2020.
Bell joins the Blazers from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he led the Panthers this past season in scoring, averaging 14.1 points per game en route to earning All-Horizon League Second Team honors.
"We are extremely excited to add a scoring talent like Jeremiah," Ehsan said. "He will use this year off to develop all facets of his game and will be a tremendous asset for our program moving forward."
The Louisville, Ky., native propelled the Panthers' offense in 2017-18 from behind the arc by leading his team in 3-pointers made (75) and 3-point field goal percentage (38.3). He finished out the season with 23 starts, while making appearances in 32 of the Panthers' 33 games.
During his first season in Milwaukee (2016-17), he made appearances in the team's 35 games with all of his action coming off the bench. During that campaign, he averaged 7.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest.
Bell began his career at Vincennes University where he helped the Trailblazers to a 26-8 overall record while averaging a team best 14.3 points and 4.2 assists per game to go along with 3.2 rebounds per contest.
A standout at Boyle County High School, the All-Area nominee paced his squad with 21.2 points and 6.4 rebounds during his senior season, which included the program's first-ever trip to the state semifinals.
