BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB is set to host UTSA this weekend at Mary Bowers Field as the Blazers wrap up the regular season at home. UAB is looking for its fifth Conference USA series victory with just two weeks left before the conference tournament.
A doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday with first pitch slated for 1 p.m. CT with game two beginning approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one. The series finale is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
UAB (20-28-1, 11-6-1 C-USA) is second overall in C-USA, after dropping its first conference series of the year last weekend in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown with conference leader Louisiana Tech. The Blazers are looking to bounce back and hold tight to their second overall spot as a finish within the top-2 would give them a first round bye in the conference tournament.
UTSA (18-25, 6-12) has yet to win a conference series and comes to Birmingham having lost seven of its last 10 games.
