Men’s Basketball Announces Signing of Nolan Bertain

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB men's basketball program has added a sixth player to the roster for the 2018-19 season as head coach Robert Ehsan has announced the addition of sharp-shooter Nolan Bertain.
A 6-foot-4 guard from Portland, Ore., Bertain arrives in Birmingham with three years of eligibility remaining after playing last season at Casper Junior College in Wyoming.
"Nolan is an elite shooter with tremendous range and he is going to help our program immensely," Ehsan said. "Along with being a great shooter, he is capable of putting the ball on the floor and he has a very high basketball IQ. We are beyond excited to welcome Nolan to the UAB basketball family."
In 22 games with Casper, Bertain averaged 14.3 points per game while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor, 45.3 percent from 3-point range and 74.1 percent from the free throw line. He also averaged 4.3 rebounds and two assists per contest in helping his team finish 22-10.
Bertain scored a season-high 31 points in a victory over Williston State and reached double-digit points in 13 games, including seven of Casper's last nine.
Bertain played last season under the direction of head coach Dan Russell and assistant coach Tyler Hurley. He chose UAB over Western Kentucky.
