BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB women's tennis team will begin play in the opening round of the Conference USA Tournament in Norfolk, Virginia, on Wednesday when it squares off with North Texas at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center at 3 p.m.
The Blazers (12-11) enter the tournament with a 1-2 record in C-USA action with its win coming against Charlotte, a 4-3 decision, on March 16. UAB and North Texas did not play each other this season.
"North Texas is one of the best programs in our league," head coach Mark Tjia said. "They have played one of the toughest schedules in the country and are nationally ranked. They are well coached and will be well prepared. We are really looking forward to this challenge on Thursday."
