Blazers Travel to Charlotte for C-USA Series

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB baseball team will close out a busy month of March this week when it travels to Charlotte for a three-game series with the 49ers beginning on Thursday with first pitch set for 5 p.m. CT. The two teams will play game two on Friday at 4 p.m. CT with the series finale set for Saturday at 12 p.m. CT.

Quick Hitters
- UAB (10-13, 3-3 C-USA) is coming off of an 8-2 loss to cross-town rival Samford on Tuesday.
- Colton Schultz has been the hottest hitter in the UAB lineup as of late. The sophomore enters the weekend in the middle of a, team-best, five-game hitting streak where he has three multi-hit games.
- With his fifth double of the season against Samford, Thomas Johns became the team-leader in doubles. Of Johns' 12 hits this season, five have been for extra bases.
- The Blazers' game-one starter, Tanner Graham, is coming off of one of his best outings of his career. The junior allowed just four hits, no runs, with four strikeouts over a career-high 8.1 innings against LA Tech (3/23).
- The UAB pitching staff as a whole has been strong this season and carries a 3.21 ERA, the second lowest mark in C-USA.
- Junior Ty Harris has made an immediate impact for the Blazers out of the bullpen this season. Harris is tied for first in the league in the appearances (13) while also leading the team in saves (2).
- UAB has turned 25 double plays this season, the 13th most in the country, while its 1.1 double plays per game ranks 14th in the nation

- Charlotte (14-10, 4-2 C-USA) is coming off of a 14-2 loss to North Carolina.
- The 49ers rank 18th in the NCAA in batting average hitting .306 averaging seven runs and 10.8 hits per game
- Jackson Mims leads the Charlotte offense ranking 13th in the NCAA in hits with 40. Additionally he leads C-USA in batting average (.400) and hits (40)
