UAB Travels to UTEP for its Second Conference USA Series

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB softball team heads to El Paso, Texas, this weekend to face off with UTEP in its first conference road series of the season.
The Blazers and the Miners will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. CT and will wrap up the three-game set with a game on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
UAB is coming off its conference opening series against Marshall that saw them go 1-1-1 over the weekend. The Green and Gold won the first game 2-1, dropped game two 9-6 and ended game three in a 1-1 tie.
The past week saw Destini England and Molli Garcia both hit over .400 and combine for 13 hits. The pair also combined for four runs, four extra base hits and six RBI. Rachel Rogers also had a solid week, hitting .294 with two doubles, a run scored, a home run and two RBI.
Coming into this weekend, the Blazers have won 12 straight over the Miners, a streak that goes back to April 20, 2013.
