BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's soccer wraps up the regular season on Friday night when it welcomes Georgia State to BBVA Compass Field. Kickoff between the Blazers and Panthers is set for 7 p.m., with the Senior Night ceremony beginning at approximately 6:50.
UAB (5-8-3) closed its Conference USA slate with a 1-0 loss at South Carolina last Saturday. With one weekend of league play remaining, the Blazers sit in seventh place overall and are on pace to make their first C-USA Tournament since 2016.
The Blazers are 3-1-2 in their last six games at BBVA Compass Field. The Blazers are outscoring opponents 8-5 during the stretch and registered consecutive shutouts against New Mexico and Appalachian State.
Offensively, UAB is led by a collective effort as DeAndre Robinson, Blake White and Aidan O'Hara all have three goals. Robinson leads the team in points, adding a pair of assists for eight total points on the season.
Georgia State (9-5-2) comes to Birmingham atop the Sun Belt Conference standings. The Panthers went unbeaten in league play, including closing their SBC slate with a 4-3 win over Coastal Carolina.
Max Hemmings leads the team in points with three goals and three assists. The senior ranks eighth overall in the Sun Belt in points and 10th in points per game.
Aris Briggs leads the team and ranks third in the Sun Belt in goals with five on the season, including netting the game winner against Coastal Carolina.
UAB and Georgia State are meeting for the 22nd time in program history, with the Panthers leading the series 12-8-1. UAB looks to avenge last season's 4-1 loss in Atlanta.
Friday night is Team Night at BBVA Compass Field. Youth soccer teams with a submitted roster by Nov. 1 will receive free admission into the match. Tickets can be purchased to the game either online or at the BBVA Compass Field Ticket Office and are $5 or adults or $3 for youth 18 and younger.
