UAB Cheer and Dance Clinics Set for Oct. 21

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB Cheerleading and Golden Girls spirit teams will hold a clinic a on Oct. 21, at the Campus Recreation Center.
Led by Head Cheerleading Coach Cody Sellers and Head Golden Girls Coach Abby Southerland, the clinics will run from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and the cost for the one-day event is $55.
The clinics are open to full-time UAB students – including college transfers from other programs – in addition to high school students.
Current Blazer Cheerleaders and Golden Girls will provide a glimpse into the inner workings of the UAB Spirit program and also answer general questions about college cheerleading and dance. Additionally, the cheerleaders and Golden Girls will display their talents and simultaneously expose attendees to the college environment.
The cheer squad finished third in the Division I small co-ed category at the 2018 College Cheer and Dance National Championships, while the Golden Girls advanced to the semifinals in both the jazz and hip hop category in the overall Division I category.
