Welcome to the UAB Spirit Program
UAB Spirit Program Philosophy
First and foremost, the UAB Spirit Program's responsibility to the student participant is to support and not to compromise the student's academic career. Secondly, the program should aid in developing the student participant into a responsible, mature and independent adult. Specifically, the program is a means of improving the student's mental and physical well-being. UAB Cheer, Golden Girls dance team, and Blaze the mascot program are activities where the student will be provided leadership training, develop the ability to make decisions, enhance the ability to respond to life's situations, will contribute to social development and generally will maximize the opportunity for student growth, change and maturity.
