NOTES:
- The Blazers look for their eighth win overall and sixth in Conference USA action. A win would set a program record for both. The Blazers also look to go 6-0 at home for the first time in school history.
- Senior linebacker Tevin Crews has established himself as a candidate for Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year. Crews has had a monster season and is the only player in the league to rank in the top 10 in both tackles and tackles for loss. He has 91 total tackles to go along with 11 TFLs, two sacks, three pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble.
- Fellow senior Darious Williams has also become one of the nation's elite as a lockdown corner. Williams ranks fourth nationally and leads Conference USA in pass breakups (14) and passes defended (18). He is coming off a career-high four pass breakups at Florida.
- Freshman sensation Spencer Brown looks to continue his successful rookie campaign on Saturday. Brown is the nation's third leading rusher among freshmen and ranks 19th overall in that category. He enters the game with 1,194 yards and 10 touchdowns and has six 100-yard rushing games this year.
- Despite a tough outing on the ground last week at Florida, the Blazer offense hopes to return to its successful ground attack and is two touchdowns shy of establishing a new program record for rushing touchdowns in a season. UAB has 26 scores on the ground this year, one shy of the 2014 team that holds the record with 27. Except Florida, UAB has scored at least two rushing touchdowns in every game this season and is averaging 191.5 rushing yards per game overall.
- Both Crews and Broderick Thomas had double digit tackles at Florida, and the 12 tackles for Thomas were a career best. Thomas is a nominee for C-USA Newcomer of the Year and has 88 tackles this season. He has been a consistent force in the secondary and has added three TFL and one interception to his stat line.
