Dodds Finishes Second at ITA Southern Regionals

AUBURN, Ala. – Sophie Dodds finished runner-up of the singles B draw as the UAB women's tennis team completed the final day of the ITA Southern Regionals Yarbrough Tennis Center on the Auburn University campus.

"I think we are a better team today than we were before we started the tournament on Friday," UAB head coach Mark Tjia said. "We had several players evolve and mature, and we got some wins over players we have historically had a tough time with. Our doubles are a work in progress that we need to work on, but overall it was a solid effort. We won six of seven first round singles matches and we made the finals of a flight. We had the most wins at regionals in recent memory. With that said, we need to stay humble and hungry in our preparation for the Roberta Alison tournament on Friday in Tuscaloosa."
