BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB Department of Athletics is offering a pre-sale exclusive to season tickets holders and Blazer Boosters members for UAB's matchup with Memphis on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at Bartow Arena.
In addition to renewing a long standing rivalry with Memphis that dates back to 1984, UAB will also honor legendary head coach Gene Bartow in the ninth annual Bartow Classic. UAB will donate $2 from each ticket sold to the Gene Bartow Memorial Fund for Cancer Research.
Widely known as the `Father of UAB Athletics,' Bartow began the men's basketball program at UAB in 1978 and would go on to coach 18 seasons in Birmingham. He finished his Blazer career with 365 wins and took UAB to nine NCAA tournaments, including the 1981 Sweet 16 and 1982 Elite Eight.
Pre-Sale tickets will be available Friday, October 20 at 9 a.m. and can be purchased by logging into your account online, visiting the UAB Athletics Ticket Office located at Bartow Arena or by calling the ticket office (205-975-UAB1).
All single game tickets and mini plans go on sale to the general public on Monday, October 30 at 9 a.m. Lower level tickets can be purchased for $20 and upper level seating will be on sale for $15. This special package offers fans access to non-conference games on Nov. 26 and Dec. 23, along with UAB's Conference USA opener against defending league champion Middle Tennessee on Dec. 30. As an added bonus, fans will receive admission into the women's game on Dec. 30 as part of a doubleheader with the men. Pick-Six fans will be afforded the best upper arena seats while the Holiday Pack will be offered in lower level seating.
Season tickets for UAB's 18 home games are on sale for $250 to the general public and $225 to UAB employees and active members of the National Alumni Society. Blazer fans can also enjoy a limited number of season tickets in Blaze's Corner for $105 (available while supplies last).
