Gold Rush Thursday to Feature T-Shirt Swap

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Fresh off an 81-78 road victory at Marshall on Saturday to regain sole possession of first place in Conference USA, the UAB men’s basketball team returns home to Bartow Arena Thursday at 6 p.m. to host FIU.
All fans are encouraged to wear gold in support of Gold Rush Thursday – a season-long campaign to outfit Bartow Arena completely in gold.
Additionally, the UAB Department of Athletics, in conjunction with UAB Student Affairs, will offer a gold t-shirt swap for the first 1,000 fans in attendance – 500 students and 500 from the general public – who bring an apparel item from any other school or team.
The UAB Department of Athletics also recently announced it is offering a special "February Frenzy" mini ticket plan that includes each of the final four home games.
Fans have the opportunity to watch the Blazers battle FIU (Feb. 4), Florida Atlantic (Feb. 6), Marshall (Feb. 25) and WKU (Feb. 27) on Senior Day for only $39 – a savings of over $20 if purchased individually.
A limited number of ticket packages are available through Feb. 4 at noon. Tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE or calling the UAB Ticket Office at (205) 975-UAB 1 (8221).
UAB (18-4, 8-1) has won 21 straight games inside Bartow Arena and owns the eighth-longest home winning streak in the NCAA.
The Conference USA Men's and Women's Basketball Championships are set to return to Birmingham for the second consecutive year, marking the third time the Blazers will host the event. The men's tournament, as well as the women's semifinals and championship, will be played at Legacy Arena in downtown Birmingham, while the women's first round and quarterfinal action will take place at UAB's Bartow Arena.
