Preseason Women's Soccer C-USA Poll Announced

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's soccer team was picked 12th in the 2015 Conference USA Preseason Poll, the league office announced Tuesday.
The preseason rankings are compiled from a vote of the conference's head coaches.
The Blazers return two all-conference selections from last season, midfielder Morgan Key-Adams and defender Amy Brewer. UAB will have a young roster for the upcoming campaign, as 20 of the 28 members are sophomore standing or younger.
The Green and Gold open the regular season Aug. 21 at Austin Peay, and following a trip to Auburn on Aug. 28, host Memphis in the home opener Sunday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. at West Campus Field.
Rice was picked as the preseason favorite, while North Texas and Charlotte rounded out the top three. Rice's Lauren Hughes was tabbed as the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, and teammate Jenny Fichera earned Preseason Defensive Player of the Year honors.
