BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- UAB's men's basketball team put the finishing touches on its memorable season with its end of the year awards banquet on Tuesday night.
Head coach Jerod Haase and his staff honored the 2015 Blazers and their accomplishments during the event, which was held at Regions Field in downtown Birmingham.
Hosted by Alabama Media Group's Kevin Scarbinsky, Tuesday's event honored the 2015 Conference USA Tournament Champions and NCAA Tournament participants, while also recognizing individual accomplishments of the 13 members of the 2015 UAB men's basketball team.
"Tonight we were able to look back and reflect on what was a memorable 2015 season," head coach Jerod Haase. "It was great to get together and honor these players who put in a lot of hours to make this a special year. As I have told all these guys, you will always remember the special moments with your teammates -- climbing up the ladder to cut the nets at the conference tournament or celebrating at midcourt after the NCAA Tournament win -- those are the moments you remember for the rest of your lives."
Haase and the UAB coaching staff handed out five individual awards, which included the Elijah Serritt Unsung Hero Ward, the Academic Achievement Award, Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player and Most Valuable Player. The Blazers also honored the 2015 All-Conference USA award winners.
