BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Members of the UAB women’s soccer team will sit down with UABSports.com throughout the 2014 season to conduct Q&A’s. Check back with UABSports.com weekly for different features as the season progresses.
Today's Q&A features freshman Amy Brewer, a native of Peachtree City, Ga. Below Brewer talks about her time in Birmingham and much more.
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
“If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go to Maui because I went there two summers ago and absolutely fell in love. There are so many adventurous things to do on the island and the beaches are beautiful.”
What are your plans after you finish up at UAB?
“I plan on majoring in nursing, so after I graduate from UAB, I want to become a travel nurse and travel the world while continuing to do what I love.
If you did not play soccer, what sport would you play?
“If I didn’t play soccer, I probably wouldn’t play a sport.”
What is your favorite thing about living in Birmingham?
“My favorite thing about living in Birmingham is the fact that all the people around here are so nice.”
You play seven games on the road before hosting your first home game on Sept. 19, talk about how much of a grind that's going to be to continuously play on the road and be a little under halfway done with the season before you play at home.
“Playing seven games on the road before hosting our first home game will definitely be a challenge. A bigger challenge will be trying to balance school and traveling at the same time, but it’s doable. We’re just going to have to continue to work hard as a team and get the job done.”
