Williams, who is entering his sophomore season at Tallahassee (Fla.) Community College, is a native of nearby Homewood, Ala., but prepped at Williamsburg Christian Academy in Williamsburg, Va. before his time at TCC.
"We are thrilled to have another local player added to our roster," Haase said. "Dirk is a dynamic scorer whose athleticism will impact the game on both ends of the floor. Coach (Eddie) Barnes at Tallahassee Community College runs a great program from which current player CJ Washington came from. We expect Dirk to have an immediate impact when he arrives on campus."
In 25 games last season, Williams averaged 11.9 points per game to go along with 1.2 assists per contest. Williams shot 42.3 percent from the field as a freshman and shot an impressive 83.3 percent from the free-throw line and 37 percent from 3-point range.
Williams, whose team is currently 4-0 during the 2014-15 season, has averaged 22.2 ppg through those four contests.
