BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB football team continued preparations for Saturday’s matchup at East Carolina by working out for just over one hour in helmets and shorts at the UAB practice fields on Thursday morning.
Head coach Neil Callaway liked what he saw on the field, but feels the team needs to work on a few more details on Friday before traveling to Greenville, N.C.
“When you start off the week you have a new game plan going into practice,” Callaway said. “Tuesdays aren’t as crisp as you’d like, but come Thursday we need to start honing in.
“Today was a good day. We worked more on East Carolina, but we’ll come back out tomorrow morning and concentrate on a few more things.”
The game captains for Saturday’s contest will be senior offensive lineman Caleb Thomas, senior linebacker Lamanski Ware and senior wide receiver Nick Adams on special teams.
“[East Carolina is] playing extremely hard,” Callaway said. “It’s a game that we are certainly going to have to be ready to play.”
Saturday’s game at East Carolina will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. CT). The game will be carried live on the Blazer IMG Sports Network, airing locally on 107.7 WUHT-FM. David Crane and John Whitcomb will call the action with Sam Miller on the sidelines. The pregame show begins 90 minutes before kickoff. The contest will be televised locally to the eastern North Carolina market on WITN-TV.
