Aaron Johnson Named Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Aaron Johnson, a senior guard on the UAB men's basketball team, has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
Johnson has excelled both on and off the court during his senior season. This past semester, Johnson, a communications major who will graduate this May, earned a 3.4 GPA. He was a big reason why the men's basketball team carried a 3.0 team GPA during the fall 2010 semester.
On the hardwood, Johnson was selected to the Conference USA First Team and All-Defensive team earlier in the week. He currently leads the country with 7.9 assists per game, while also contributing 11.1 points per contest.
The UAB Student-Athlete of the Week is highlighted each Saturday morning on Blazers All-Access, which airs locally at 11:30 a.m. on ABC 33/40.
Johnson and the top-seeded Blazers will face either eighth seed East Carolina or ninth seed UCF in the C-USA Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday at 11 a.m. MT (Noon CT). The game will be nationally televised on CBS College Sports and can also be heard on the Blazer Sports Network, 107.7 FM WUHT.
