Blazers Fall At Tulane In Women's Tennis Action

NEW ORLEANS -- The UAB women's tennis team suffered a 6-0 road loss Saturday at Conference USA foe Tulane.
The teams played indoors at the New Orleans Hilton Indoor Tennis Center because of rain, and no doubles matches were contested.
The Green Wave won each of the singles matches in straight sets.
Paula Alvarez played the closest contest of the day for UAB, falling 6-3, 6-4 to Lindsay Dvorak at the No. 3 position. Evelien Strijker also played a competitive match, dropping a pair of 6-3 sets to Emma Levy at the No. 2 spot. Giorgia Romeo fell to Mariam Kurdadze 6-2, 6-3 at the top spot.
Tulane (5-7) dropped just six total games in its three wins at the bottom three singles positions.
UAB (3-4) will remain on the road to face another conference opponent on Sunday. The Blazers travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to meet Southern Miss for an 11 a.m. CT first serve.
